Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Permanent Makeup, including what to expect before, during and after your treatment. If you need any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattooing treatment designed to enhance your natural features. Pigment is carefully implanted into the skin to create long-lasting brows, lip colour or eyeliner that looks soft and natural.

PMU typically lasts 1– 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. A colour boost is recommended every 12–18 months to keep your results looking fresh.

Most clients describe the treatment as slightly uncomfortable rather than painful. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible.

I offer a range of permanent makeup services such as hair stroke, ombre powder brows, permanent eyeliner, and lip blush. Your first appointment usually takes 2–3 hours. This includes consultation, mapping, colour matching and the treatment itself. Perfection takes time 🤍 .

Brows/lips may appear darker immediately after treatment, this is completely normal. Over 7–14 days, the colour will soften and settle into a more natural shade. Full healing takes around 4–6 weeks.

Yes! My goal is always to enhance your natural features, not overpower them. Every treatment is fully customised to suit your face shape, skin tone and personal style.

Yes. A patch test is required at least 48 hours before your appointment to ensure you have no allergic reactions to the pigments or numbing products.

Permanent Makeup may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, undergoing certain medical treatments, prone to keloid scarring, or taking specific medications such as Roaccutane within the past year. A full consultation will always be carried out to ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you.

To achieve the best possible results, please avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment and limit caffeine on the day of treatment, as these can increase sensitivity. You should also avoid sunbeds, sunburn, or active skincare products in the treatment area beforehand. Arriving with your usual brow or lip makeup on can also be helpful, as it allows us to understand your preferred style.

During the healing period, it is important to keep the treated area clean and dry. Avoid excessive sweating, swimming, saunas, sunbeds and applying makeup directly to the area until it has fully healed.
